Activities/Pathfinding

Pathfinding

This is an excellent activity for developing small muscles. Using scissors is too tough for young toddlers, but older two- or three-year-olds can definitely give it a try. If paper is too difficult to cut, try playdough instead.

Draw an easy-to-cut pattern (using two lines to form a path) on a plain piece of paper. Paths could follow a variety of shapes: zigzags, S-shapes, straight lines, and so on. Have your child cut right down the center of the path without straying. If you like, keep your child’s cutting exercises in a special folder that you can add to each day.
