Map Making

Sketch a map of an area while looking down on it from a hill, or map a trail or your home area while walking.
Be consistent in the use of symbols, using the same symbol for the same feature each time, such as two lines running closely parallel for streams, one line for roads, etc. Propor-tions should be as accurate as possible. In a lower corner, make a “legend,” showing the sign used for each feature.
