Use a small wooden box such as a prune box from the grocery store, or sturdy cardboard boxes of small size, or half-gallon ice cream con-tainers. Cut one side and the top away. With the ice cream container, cut away a third of the side but none of the bottom.

For the floor surface use real moss or lichen, sand, plaster of Paris ( 10), papier-mâché ( 10), or clay ( 11), real grass, Easter grass. Bits of sponge, especially if colored already or dried with colored poster paint in them, serve as bushes (or see 72). Use glass as water; place blue or green
