| | | | | | | | | | | Secret Family Pals Many offices conduct a “Secret Pal” program during the holidays. Turn this activity into a year-round family event. Write everyone’s name on a piece of paper. Put the slips into a bag and randomly draw names so that no one gets their own name. Keep the identities secret! Each family member now has a secret pal. Set a time limit, such as five or ten days, during which everyone does a daily secret good act for his or her pal. Part of the fun is guessing who is making your bed or writing you nice notes. Some things you can do for your secret pal are:
© Add a special treat to their lunch sack. © Make a card and stick it in their pocket. © Buy their favorite dessert.
© Give a coupon for a special treat (redeemable after secret pals are identified).
© Set a bunch of flowers by their dinner plate. © Write a poem about their positive traits. © Secretly do one of their chores.
This activity requires family members to think about others. It’s also fun to wake up and find a small gift next to your bowl of cereal!
